Jessica Marie Cantu, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday evening, July 28, 2016, after a strong seven-year battle with cancer which started as breast cancer, then lymph node, then brain and finally liver cancer. She never let her illness or chemo bring her down. Her smile was infectious to everyone around her. Jessica was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 19, 1973. She was born with a brittle bone disability called Osteogenesis Imperfecta. The doctors told her family she would not live past the first week. But Jessica never let her disability stop her. She graduated from Judson High School in 1991. She then worked for a time with West Telemarketing where she was awarded best employee and won a cruise to Puerto Rico. She lived on her own for over 20 years and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and animals big and small. We will never forget Jessica's battle and use her story to inspire others to never give up! She is survived by her parents, Len and Marta Sena, her sister, Janice Cruz (Gabriel), nephew, Marco and niece, Isabella and her extended family, Becky and Bob Nava and their three children, Gilbert, Angela, and Samantha. She is also survived by her Grandma, Agapita Gonzalez, her aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her very much. She is preceded by her Maternal Grandfather, Manuel Gonzalez and Paternal Grandmother, Viola Sena. A rosary will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 16075 N. Evans Rd, Selma, TX. on August 4, 2016 at 7pm. Mass at OLPH will be on August 5, 2016 at 10am. Internment will follow at OLPH Cemetary #2 immediately after.
