Joe Oliva Obituary

Joe G. Oliva, 86, passed away April 17, 2001 in San Antonio. He was born March 19, 1915 in Castroville, TX. Mr. Oliva retired from Kelly A.F.B. after 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Oliva; a brother, Carlos Oliva and a grandson, Alfred Velasquez, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Lupe Salazar Oliva; children, Joe S. Oliva and his wife Cruz, Frank S. Oliva, Sylvia Ann Velasquez and her husband Alfredo, Sandra Grace and her husband Roy, Betty Munquia; brothers and sisters, Bonnie Oliva, Dolores Hernandez, Alice Soto, Manuel Oliva, Chris Oliva; grandchildren, Mark Anthony Velasquez, Cynthia Oliva, Joe Michael Oliva, Lorie Mungia, Jerry Musquiz, Jr., Robert Grace, Sonia Oliva and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M, Thursday, April 19, 2001 at Roy Akers Funeral Chapels with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 P.M. The Procession will depart from the funeral home 12:00 Noon, Friday, April 20, 2001 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:30 P.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 152 Florencia. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Roy Akers Funeral Chapels.
