John O'Neill Bomer III, age 87, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospice in San Antonio. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 19, 1929 to John O'Neill Bomer, Jr. & Lamar Ryals Bomer.
John was a retired Goodyear employee of 35 years and was a long time member of Northeast Baptist Church of San Antonio.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jane Moore Bomer; 4 children, John Bomer IV & wife Sissy of Houston, TX, Dan Bomer & wife Gail of West Memphis, AR, Dixie Neal Altman & husband Chuck of North Richland Hills, TX and Becky Madsen & husband Robert of Round Rock, TX and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Northeast Baptist Church, 2930 MacArthur View, San Antonio, TX 78217 followed by a 12 noon Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

John has been a very good friend for many years.

We both started to work for Goodyear in the Memphis District as store managers. It was my pleasure to work closely with John here in San Antonio until we both retired from Goodyear.

We enjoyed out time spent with John and Jane on many occasions.

What a comfort we have in knowing that John is resting in the arms of Jesus.

Jane, We pray that the Lord will Bless you and keep you and give you His peace at this difficult time.

Mrs. Bomer and family,

Mrs. Bomer , cannot express the saddest of the passing of Mr. Bomer, he will always be remembered in our hearts for his kindest . He was my Role Model and Mentor while he worked for Goodyear, He is the reason I am still working 45 yrs with Goodyear. Mrs. Jane Bomer cannot express how sad Blanca and I are about this news . I know Mr. Bomer is with Jesus Now, he cannot come to you,but someday we all go to see him in heaven. Jane and family, can't express how sad we are. Just know that John is with Jesus and no longer in pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. John was an upstanding Christian man and such a role model. I will miss him dearly.

Ms. Jane and Bomer family, my heart and prayers go out to you and the family. I know that we have all loss a very special man, "friend" as Mr. John and I would call each other. He was so dearly loved by all. As my brother Chris put it, we have known ya'll for so long, it is like we have lost one of our own.
