John Boytos Obituary

October 8, 1932 - June 28, 2016
John Lomand Boytos went to be with the Lord June 28, 2016 at the age of 83. He was born in Homestead, PA on October 8, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Smith, Elizabeth Thomas, and Johnny Boytos. He was married to Pamela Palmer, the mother of four of his children. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Elizabeth Quernemoen, and his five children, Denise Crawford (Pete), Karen Laub (Anthony), Debra Stack (Patrick), Garry Boytos (Megan), Stan Valdez (Ami); Eleven Grandchildren, and five Great-grandchildren. John retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he served in combat in Vietnam and other stations. He received many awards including the Bronze Star. John worked for and retired from the U.S. Civil Service and received numerous awards for outstanding service. He was an avid sportsman; he loved baseball, basketball, and golf. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted at Community Bible Church on 1604, Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Military Memorial Service at Fort Sam Houston; 1:30 p.m. Send flowers to Castle Ridge Mortuary or in lieu of flowers, make donations to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS).
