John Terry Obituary

John David Terry III
January 24, 1981 - February 13, 2023
John David Terry III, age 42, of San Antonio, beloved son, brother, father, and friend was called home to be with the Lord.
John was born on January 24, 1981, to John and Katie (Burns) Terry and was the oldest of two children. His true passion was his children, Ava, Vera, and Riley. He was so proud of all of their accomplishments and creativity, the dancing, music, arts, and sports. He loved their enthusiasm for adventures.
John was an avid outdoorsman, working on the family ranch. He enjoyed managing the deer and cattle and observing the natural beauty of the ranch. He was a star gazer and had a fascination with space.
John was a history buff and always ready to learn and experience life. He loved movies and shared that with his sister and often had debates over the latest films. He was a collector of memorabilia from Star Wars to Marvel.
John had a gift for music from a very young age. He learned to play the piano by ear, but his true love was for the guitar and making music.
John was a man of few words, but he could always make you laugh. John will be truly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, John David Terry, Jr., and aunt, Laura Moore. John is survived by his wife, Sarah, daughters, Ava and Vera; son, Riley; mother, Katie Burns Terry Horlen; stepfather, Buster Horlen; sister, Lisa Terry-Horlen; uncle, Cayce Moore (Jules); and cousins, Preston Moore, Trey Moore (Deann), and Jenny Mansker (Clay).

You were a also a beloved husband, best friend, and companion to me for over half of my life. You were the father of my children. There is no way to explain what going through this with the kids has been like. Feels like a nightmare we can´t wake ourselves up from. They miss you so much, John.
