Joe was a good man who will be missed by all that had the good fortune to know him. Until we meet again, may God hold him in the palm of his hand.

Met Joe at CPS in 1969 as a summer youth employee. I was in awe of his artistic talents. I returned to CPS in 1970 and was lucky to return to the same department as Joe. I enjoyed our conversations and his calm demeanor. It was always a pleasure to occasionally see him out and about. Thanks for being my friend. May you rest in peace.

Jose was alway a positive force in the community.
He encouraged me on my poetic journey--a nobleman & always a gentleman. He will be missed. God bless your steps on your new journey.

Condolences to the Esquivel family. Worked with Joe for 10 years at CPS many years ago. I saw him about a year ago at H-E-B with his wife. I recognized him immediately. He was still as friendly and humble as I remembered. Again, my sincere condolences to his family. May his soul Rest In Peace.
