Met Joe at CPS in 1969 as a summer youth employee. I was in awe of his artistic talents. I returned to CPS in 1970 and was lucky to return to the same department as Joe. I enjoyed our conversations and his calm demeanor. It was always a pleasure to occasionally see him out and about. Thanks for being my friend. May you rest in peace.

Jose was alway a positive force in the community. He encouraged me on my poetic journey--a nobleman & always a gentleman. He will be missed. God bless your steps on your new journey.

Condolences to the Esquivel family. Worked with Joe for 10 years at CPS many years ago. I saw him about a year ago at H-E-B with his wife. I recognized him immediately. He was still as friendly and humble as I remembered. Again, my sincere condolences to his family. May his soul Rest In Peace.
