Joyce Despres, 95, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born May 8, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas. She married James Edward Despres on Oct. 20, 1951, in San Antonio. They were married for 56 years until his passing in 2007. He had served for 38 years in the San Antonio Police Department. Joyce was a dedicated housewife and supportive mother. She is survived by her son, Ret. Lt. Michael Despres, SAPD; daughter, Linda Despres; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother and four sisters. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to spoil them. We take solace knowing that she now rests in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, patiently waiting for us to rejoin her, and we look forward to the day we can see her again.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. The Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 12, 2025 at the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
