Julia Chatwell Obituary
Julia Alberthal Chatwell passed away at her home in San Antonio on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the age of 85, surrounded by her family. Julia was the daughter of Richard and Cora Petmecky Alberthal. She was born and raised in Fredericksburg, graduated in the class of 1948, and married in 1954. Moved to San Antonio in 1955, where she lived the rest of her life. She is survived by her only child, Julie Wedel and husband, Craig. Two grandchildren, Dale of San Jose, CA. and Jennifer Staples and husband David of Adkins, TX. Four great-grandchildren, Bayley and Luke Wedel, Rylan and Sydnee Staples. Sister-in-laws, Helen Alberthal of San Antonio, Louise Chatwell DeJarnette of Lincoln, NE. Special cousins, Phil Petmecky, Fred Petmecky, Bill Petmecky, other cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers and two sister-in-laws. Joe and Betty Alberthal, Allen and Davy Jean Alberthal, and Andrew Alberthal.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11th, 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Mission Park South Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday October 12th, at 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg, TX. Interment will follow at Der Friedstadt Cemetery.
Following the interment there will be a reception held at the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart Association, or her church in San Antonio, St. John's Lutheran Church.
