Julia Rodriguez Obituary

JULIA G. RODRIGUEZ
July 30, 1941 - November 8, 2024
Julia Garcia Rodriguez, 83, passed away peacefully in her home November 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Julia was the epitome of beauty, unconditional love, kindness, generosity, patience, faith, and humility. Her gentle and nurturing ways grew trees from seeds in her garden. Her greatest joy in life was raising her family to stand tall yet to remain down-to-earth. Julia was preceded in eternal rest by her parents, Doroteo and Maria Garcia and her brother, Juan Garcia. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Florencio Rodriguez, Sr. Her quiet strength will also live on in her children: Rebecca J. Raymond, Jessica M. Howell, Natalie A. Gutierrez, Florencio Rodriguez, Jr., and Marisela R. Crowe; and in her 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Grace Cortez, Emilia G. Silva, Natalia Lopez, twins Porfirio Garcia, and Doroteo Garcia, Jr., and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
A Rosary will be held in Julia's honor at 7:00pm, Monday, November 18, at The Angelus Chapel.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 9:30am on Wednesday, November 20, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1314 Fair Ave. Burial will take place later that day at 2:15pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach.

Mrs. Rodriguez was a very Gentle and Humble Soul. I grew up in the Neighborhood, and knew all of the Rodriguez children. Mrs. Rodriguez had a special way of being herself. I can say yes, she loved to garden as I would see her and Mr. Rodriguez outside in the yard. Mrs. Rodriguez always said hi to you. I would see her walking every morning. Mrs. Rodriguez always had a smile and always brought a smile to your face. She will be Greatly missed and will keep Mr. Rodriguez and his Children in Prayer as they go through this tough time loosing a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. May Perpetual Light upon Her! It was an Honor to know Mrs. Rodriguez. Mom and myself will miss her greatly.
