Keith Hullinger Obituary

HULLINGER
Keith Theodore Hullinger, age 81, passed away January 20, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on November 21, 1927, in Waterloo, Iowa and lived in Waverly, Iowa, where he attended Wartburg College. Keith did his undergraduate work in Engineering at Iowa State University and his graduate work at the University of Texas at Arlington. He also did graduate work in Rocket Propulsion at U.C. Santa Barbara and UCLA. His career included testing of gyro instruments at Bendix Aviation, two years in the U.S. Army collecting data on heavy artillery, flight test engineer on the Dart Anti-Tank Missile for Aerophysics Development Corp., Test Manager on the TITAN ICBM for American Machine and Foundry, Manager of Systems Analyses with Chrysler on the Apollo moon landing program and Editor of the AIAA Journal, Manager of Systems Analyses on the LANCE missile program for LTV, Weapon's Analyst for Texas Instruments, Manager of Weapon Systems Effectiveness on B-52 Standoff Missiles for Boeing-Wichita with a technical paper given at the NAECON Conference, Manager of Weapon Simulation and combat effectiveness analyses for the F-18 fighter and the B-1 Stealth Bomber for Northrop Corp. During his career, he taught ballroom dancing, obtained a Private Pilot's License, was an amateur photographer, a skit writer and director, played the guitar in musical group presentations, copywrited several songs, belonged to the American Rocket Society, was a Toastmaster for many years becoming Governor of District 28 including all clubs in Detroit and Toledo, was a Foxhunter with his trusty horse Bacardi, earning his colors with the Hickory Creek Hunt Club of Dallas, was Joint Master of Foxhounds in Wichita and belonged to the West End Hunt Club in L.A. After retirement he taught GED, and was a VIP for the SAPD, was Executive Governor of Who's Who International in San Antonio, and had a sloop in Canyon Lake and graduated from Cornerstone Ministerial Institute. Survivors include his children, Alan Hullinger of Chandler, AZ, Marc Hullinger of Moreno Valley, CA, and Cynthia Greenblatt of Los Gatos, CA. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, 2009, from 12:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
