Kenneth Minix Obituary
Kenneth W. Minix, born December 16, 1926 in West, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2012 at the age of 85 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Verna Nell Crossley Minix; his parents, his twin brother, Warren Minix; his younger brother, J.T. Minix and his son, Douglas Minix. He is survived by his sister, Lillian Gerkin; sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at Western Hills Christian Church, 8535 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX 78240 on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Interment of his ashes by the family will take place at a later date in the Blanco Texas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the San Antonio Public Library Gift and Memorial Fund, Attn: Fiscal Offices at Central Library, 600 Soledad Street, San Antonio, TX 78205 or to a charity of one's choice.

To the family of Ken Minix, my deepest sympathy. Ken's wife, Verna was a dear friend of mine, we worked together in the Dept of Surgery at UTHSC and we shared and enjoyed many conversations about life.
I will always remember Verna and the "Ken" she talked about, and have as a remembrance beautiful red and white Amarylis bulbs she brought me from her garden. She was a special lady and I was sorry to hear that she had passed away. May God's blessing be on Ken and his family at this troubling time.

We were saddened to hear about Kenneth passing away. We have known Mr. Minix over twenty years,and he will be greatly missed. Kenneth was a very strong willed man who lived a long and productive life. Our prayers and thoughts will be with his family.
