Kenneth "Kenny" Rose passed away peacefully at his home on October 29, 2021 following a brief illness. He was 72.
Kenny was a unique and memorable soul with a huge heart and an ever present sense of play. An obsessive fan of any and all sports, Kenny would happily watch curling if another game was not airing. Kenny would drop everything to come to the aid of any animal in distress. They all loved him back. His life was filled with lifelong friends.
25 years ago, Kenny started making and delivering breakfast tacos to the homeless of San Antonio on Christmas Day. This event has grown exponentially over the years, adding more volunteers and recipients and sock delivery.
Kenny graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio and attended the University of Texas at Austin. After some reckless years, he enjoyed work as a successful partner and manager in the automotive industry. Kenny and his wife, Sherry, partnered in KB Rose LLC, a multifaceted property sales and management corporation for the past decade.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, Leo Rose and Gloria Zimmerman Kessler.
Incredibly devoted to his ever-growing family, Kenny is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sherry Richie Rose; beloved stepmother, Chickie Rose; siblings Julie Rose (Peter Lock deceased), Laurie Levit (Steven Ades), Kalima Rose, Nancy Levit (Cathy Underwood), Stephen Levit (Ann): children Crystal Ulbrich (Barrett), Dustin Hannah (Ashley), Stevie Dickerson (Dr. James), Brennan Bennett and Gina Hardy.
Kenny will also be dearly remembered by 13 grandchildren.
We will deeply miss his quick mind, ability to make us laugh and remarkable memory which held so much family history.
