Lantz Hubberd Obituary
Lantz Hubberd of Garden Ridge, Texas was born to Willa Peters Hubberd and Lee Hubberd on April 23, 1938 at The Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas on a beautiful spring day. Lantz' brother Steve Hubberd followed. His little sister Mary Sandra "Kieke" completed the Hubberd family. Lantz had an adventurous childhood with Steve and Kieke. Their parents provided the Hubberd children with strong Christian values and family loyalty.
Indeed, these values provided the cornerstone of Lantz' life journey. Lantz was a humble man who took great joy in the outdoors. He enjoyed target shooting and delighted in the beauty of an ordinary day.
Lantz was blessed with a son, Michael Lantz Hubberd of Houston, a daughter Ashley Nicole Hubberd Sanchez of Garden Ridge Texas, and granddaughter Megan Rose Hubberd of San Antonio, Texas. Lantz had tremendous gratitude for his children and enjoyed sharing their lives with them.
At the end of Lantz' journey his loyalty to his family remained steadfast. His hope for family loyalty endured as he took his tumble into immortality on October 5, 2012 with family and friends by his side. Lantz' mantra remained; trust in the Lord with all your heart, and forgive everyone everything.
Survivors include: Wife, Colleen O'Connell Hubberd, daughter Ashley and son-in-law, Phillip N. Sanchez, son, Michael Lantz Hubberd and sisters Mary Dahlman, Tracy and brother-in-law, Chris Muise, nieces Elizabeth O'Connell, and Melissa Muise of Spring Branch, Texas, Sky Mulkey of San Antonio, Willa Yturri Graff of D'Hanis, Texas, Frances Yturri of Plymouth, Michigan, and Mary Sandra Yturri of San Antonio, Texas.
Lantz considered his friends and family a blessing from God.
The family will receive friends on October 10, 2012, at Schertz Funeral Home, from 6:00PM - 8:00PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00PM, Father Tim Vellom Officiating. The Graveside Service will be on October 11, 2012 at Holy Cross Cemetery, at 1:00PM.
