Lloyd Stevens Obituary

STEVENS
Lloyd A. Stevens was born in Weeks, Arkansas on April 13, 1924 to Robert A. and Alberta Ginn Stevens and passed away on Tuesday November 11, 2008 at the age of 84. Lloyd served in the U. S. Army during WW II and landed at Normandy on D-Day. He also received a Purple Heart. He was a 55 year member of the Davy Crockett Masonic Lodge #1225 AF&AM, where he served as Treasurer from 2000-2008; a member of Sons of Hiram, Alzafar Shrine and Grace Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna M.(Hoentsch)Stevens. Surviving are his children, Lloyd E. Stevens of San Antonio, TX, James D. Stevens and wife, Ginger of Frederick, MD; daughter, Dana L. Kamansky and husband, John of San Antonio; grandchildren, Tami Leigh (Stevens) Champion and husband, Paolo of Houston, TX, Callie (Stevens) Heaton and husband, John of Washington, DC, Dan Stevens of Frederick, MD, Kelly Kamansky of San Antonio, Jared Kamansky of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Alexandra R. Champion of Houston, TX, Jackson C. Champion of Houston, TX, Mia Kamansky-Pena of San Antonio. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum I.

Dear Stevens Family:

It is with deepest sadness that I extend my condolences to you on the loss of your beloved.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service and dedication to our great country.

May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.
