Lollie Brusenhan Obituary

LOLLIE JOSEPHINE WRIGHT BRUSENHAN
September 18, 1932 - August 24, 2025
Lollie Josephine Wright Brusenhan, age 92, peacefully passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas at her home. She was born September 18, 1932, at her grandparents home in Commerce, Georgia. At the age of eight, the family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana as her father was finalizing his medical internship at Charity Hospital. Afterwards, they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma where her father was college physician at Oklahoma State University. During World War II, the family moved to San Antonio, Texas where her father became flight surgeon at Randolph Air Force Base. It was at this time they decided to settle in San Antonio, Texas. Lollie attended Jefferson High School and later continued her education at Randolph Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, Viriginia. She began dating Robert Lee Brusenhan, Jr. (Bob) during his college studies at Rice Institute in Houston, Texas. They were married on August 30, 1952 while Bob attended Baylor School of Medicine. Their first child Robert Lee "Rusty" Brusenhan III was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1953. Lollie and Dr. B moved to Denver, Colorado in 1955 for Bob's internship at the University of Colorado Medical School. While in Denver they welcomed daughter Kimble Wright Brusenhan into the world in 1956. In 1956 they moved to Europe where Bob served as flight surgeon and the Hospital Commander for the United States Air Force in both Germany and England. They loved their stay and experience in both countries.

In 1959 they moved back to the United States to Houston, Texas where Bob performed his four-year residency in Urology at Baylor School of Medicine. In 1963 they returned back to San Antonio, Texas where Bob practiced medicine and Urology for 40 years. Their third child Anne Elizabeth Brusenhan was born in San Antonio in 1964 and all children attended school in Alamo Heights.

Lollie's love for the South never faded as she made annual trips back to Highlands North Carolina to enjoy the Blueridge Mountains. Also, she retained a family farm in Jackson County Georgia to keep her southern roots anchored.

Lollie was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Jack Wright and Inez Wright; her beloved husband, Dr. Robert L. Brusenhan, Jr.; her sister, Clifford Anne Wright Elliott; and her beloved granddaughter, Kendall Elizabeth Youngblood. She is survived by her children, Rusty (Ann Marie), Kim, Anne (Shane); grandchildren, Abigail, Maitlyn (Schreiner), Coke (Alix), Hatch, and Hunter; and five great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78212.

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Avenue, Texas 78212. Following the service there will be a funeral procession to Sunset Memorial Park for Lollie's entombment.
