Lucy E. Meitzen

Lucy E. Meitzen, 93, of Houston, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2002. Lucy was born January 5, 1909 in Sarita, TX to William Gehrels and Clara Baker Gehrels. She was employed by the State of Texas for over 30 years. Lucy was preceded in death by her three sisters and two brothers; and her son, Carl Meitzen in 1997. Lucy is survived by her sons, Robert William 'Bobby' Meitzen and his wife Frances, August John Meitzen and his wife Linda, and Henry David Meitzen; her grandchildren, William Meitzen, Ian Meitzen and his wife LeeAnn, Farah Chisham and her husband Sean, Jeanette Reed and her husband John, April Cox and her husband J.L., Jason Lewin and his wife Kasia, Gabriel Lewin, David Meitzen, Dale Meitzen and his wife Alice, Steve Meitzen and his wife Tracey and Ruth Ross and her husband Chris. Also surviving Lucy are her great-grandchildren, Marian Meitzen, Isaac August Meitzen, Benjamin Taylor Meitzen, Eddie Meitzen, Andrew Meitzen, Dominique Meitzen, Clara Ross and Emily Ross. She as well leaves behind her faithful companion, Chico Meitzen. Funeral Services for Lucy will be Friday, March 1, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home - Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, 77095. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday. Interment will be held at a later date, in the family plot at Mission Park Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
