Luddy Fred Scotka, age 84, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born January 29, 1937 in El Campo, Texas. Luddy graduated from St. Edward's University in 1959 with a business degree leading to his lifelong career in the insurance business. Sports, traveling, and gambling were some of his passions in life. In addition, Luddy was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and the Northside Lion's Club since 1976. Luddy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Harriet Pryor Scotka; children, Sheryl Murphy (Danny), Teri Scotka, and Steve Scotka; grandchildren, Cody Murphy (Lexie), Kelli Pearson (Graham), Kayci Hermanns (Chris), and Gracelyn Scotka; great-grandchildren, Pryor and Hiatt Pearson; sister, Pam Kierce (Brian); as well as a lifetime of wonderful friends. The family wants to thank the staff at Shavano Park Senior Living and Guiding Light Hospice for their outstanding care and support.
