Lydia Gill Obituary
The Lord called Lydia Reyes Gill home on August 8, 2014 at the age of 83. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born in San Antonio, TX on July 22, 1931. She was raised by her grandparents, Hillario and Aurelia Castillo, and her aunt and uncle, Emilia and Simon Arcos; all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents Manuel Reyes and Tomasa Castillo Reyes, granddaughter Nicole Arocha, sisters Maria Louisa Pena and Olga Flores, and brother Simon Arcos Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Raymond Gill, daughters Sylvia Arocha (Alfred), Arcelia Salazar (Rene), and Anna Jean Venegas (Michael), sons Raymond Gill Jr. (Ana) and Abel Gill Sr. (Rosita), and nephews Jesse Pena Jr. (Katryn) and Ernest Pena (Virginia) who were like sons to her. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by sisters Laura Villanueva, Dolores Perez, Mary Alice Arcos and Julia Arcos, brothers Arturo Reyes, Raul Arcos, Paul Arcos, Felipe Arcos, Edward Arcos, and Richard Arcos, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. The Gill family would like to offer a special thank you to Laura Villanueva for helping to care for Lydia for the last year and a half.
SERVICES
Visitation will be held Wednesday August 13, 2014 at 5 pm with Rosary to follow at 7 pm at Brookehill Funeral Home, 711 SE Military Dr. Funeral mass will be Thursday August 14, 2014 at 10 am at St Philip of Jesus Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Jose Cemetery. Lydia you will truly be missed. Being my sister in law for over 60 years, has truly left me with many happy memories. So many stories that I can keep with me forever.
