Margaret Jarratt Obituary

Margaret Ann Jarratt
September 21, 1930 - July 1, 2025
Margaret Ann Jarratt, age 94, passed from this life in Kendall House Wellness and Rehabilitation Center on the evening of Tuesday, July 1st. Since her birth on September 21st, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas to Henry Grady Kimball and Margaret Mabel Johnson, Margaret Ann lived a truly remarkable life and had a profound impact on anyone fortunate to know her.

Margaret Ann was an incredible force in her life who endured and persevered through many hardships with a grace and strength rarely seen in this world. As a young woman, she attended Stephens College in Missouri and later attended the University of Texas for three years after. She married Eddie Zimmerman, Sr. in December of 1960 and had two children, Eddie Dale Zimmerman, Jr. on September 9th, 1962 and Henry Kimball Zimmerman April 12th, 1966. Upon the passing of her first husband, Margaret Ann found love again and married her second husband, Jerry Jarratt in 1986. She was a fiercely loyal person, and throughout the years, she developed an incredible network of lifelong friends that she treasured beyond measure. She was an avid bridge competitor and loved hosting her friends for weekly bridge gatherings. Margaret Ann always loved an adventure, traveling across the Atlantic in the Queen Victoria or experiencing an exotic safari in Kenya. As a second cousin to President Lyndon B. Johnson and first-lady Lady Bird Johnson, Margaret Ann was also very involved in politics and an avid reader of international politics and the lives of world leaders. However, what Margaret Ann cherished most was spending time with her sons, her grandchildren, and her beloved family.

Left to cherish and remember Margaret Ann are her son, Eddie Zimmerman, Jr.; her grandchildren, Matthew Zimmerman, Brittany Zimmerman, and Brooke Zimmerman; her daughter-in-law, Tammie Zimmerman; her beloved cousins Janice Fox, Jimmy and Andrea Fox, Hailey Fox, Haden Fox, Kate Martin Brown and James Brown, Tommy and Glenda Martin, Ray and Elizabeth Martin, Jill Martin, Mark Martin, Janie Martin, Kay and Eddie Edelson, Ben and Joan Ludeman, Jeanette and Bill Pickard, and William Pickard.

Margaret Ann has touched so many of our lives, and she will always be close to our hearts. Family, friends, and others who loved Margaret Ann are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, July 11th at 10:00 AM at Pearsall Cemetery located at 1675 E. Colorado St, Pearsall, TX 78061.
