Margaret Needham Obituary

01/13/2019
Our precious mom entered Heaven January 13, 2019 at the age of 99. Dad preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Gary Needham, Sharon Goodwin Needham, and Janis Rice (John) along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was loved by all who knew her. She was totally committed to serving the Lord as evidenced by teaching Sunday School until she was 90. The Lord held first place in her life. Her love for family and friends was obvious. She was a great cook and consummate domino player. Along with an abiding dedication to her church many years were filled with quilting, gardening, visiting family, discussing politics, laughing, sharing memories of her long life, and taking trips with dad.
Now mom is praising God and fellowshipping with dad, her siblings and close Christian friends. God is well pleased.
Visitation will be January 30, 11:00 a.m. at Southeast Baptist Church followed by her service at 12:00 p.m. Interment 1:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers she requested contributions be made to Shriners Children Hospital or Southeast Baptist Church, 2414 S. WW White Road, San Antonio, Texas 78222.

Margaret was very special to me. In the past couple years we lost touch but her pastor kept me informed.
She was delighted when I sent her a Christmas card with the title Grandmother, because she didn't have biological grandkids.
One Sunday she wasn't in Sunday school so I called her and she was sick. After church I stopped by and she looked like she was ready for church, all dressed up, not a hair out place--I never look that good on my best days. But she was like that, she'd walk in the fellowship hall always wearing a smile and had a spring in her step.

I've said it every chance I got...Not only was she my best looking 90 year old patient...She looked better and younger than my 60 year old patients!
Thanks for displaying your strength and sharing your love!
Until we meet again

Margaret was such a beautiful person and friend, my grandmother Hattie thought of her as a sister. Lots of love to her family as she will be greatly missed.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure your hearts are heavy at this time. May the " God of all comfort" bring comfort to your family (2 Cor 1:3). Your loved one will be at rest and in God's memory.

I knew Margaret and Marvin her husband through meeting them at Houston Terrace Baptist Church....they were so very very giving...of themselves. She was such an example to me as I was just a very young woman with a family. They were always approachable and loving in the Lord. She visited with my mother as she approached dying in 1996 (Doris Heinemeyer). Margaret was her Sunday School Teacher at one time. I'm happy Margaret away from any suffering and pain now.

I loved my Aunt Margaret! We had so much fun together! She was a wonderful Christian and cared about her family and a servant to others. We will dearly miss her but have the assurance we will see her in heaven. I think she is gathering with her family in heaven and giving her mother a big hug and kiss.
Love to her daughters , my cousins , who loved her soooo much and gave her the BEST care . Pat
