1932 - 2016
Marilyn Elizabeth Dillard, 83, passed away Friday June 17, 2016 in San Antonio Texas. She was born in Chattanooga Tennessee on November 26, 1932 to Margaret and William Scruggs.
September 14, 1952 she married Jewell Charles Dillard, her high school sweetheart, shortly after he enlisted in the Air Force. Together they raised a family while traveling to several Air Force base transfers before settling in San Antonio in 1966. They lived life to the fullest, making friends wherever they went, and passing on that, and other life's lessons to their family of seven boys and one girl.
Marilyn is preceded in death by husband Jewell and son Jody. She is survived by sons, Mike and wife Jamey, Tony and Clee, Al and Sharlana, Terry and Rose, Darryl and Samantha, Chuck and Susan, daughter Camille, fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and beloved dog Steiny. The family is thankful for the loving support of her dear friends Doris and Michael Clay and Raymond and Mary Knowles.
Visitation is from 6 - 8 pm Tuesday 6/28/16 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, Tx 78238. The service celebrating her life will take place Wednesday 6/29/16 10:00 am at the funeral home, burial at Fort Sam cemetery following service.
