Sergeant Major Mario Enrique Rendon, age 79, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Pura Rendon. He is survived by his wife, Frances, children, Melinda Geffert (John), Monica Beishir (Robert), George Thompson (Shakira), and Matthew Thompson ( Kate).
Mario was the proud grandfather of his grandchildren, Anderson, Sebastian, Kyle, Julian, Reed, Clay, Spencer, Theodore, Max, Lily, Lorelei, Tobias, Tayden, Abigail, Samuel, and Timothy.
He served honorably in the United States Army; a veteran of the Vietnam War and Army Reserves. He retired from USAA with over 30 years of service. He was a lifelong practicing Catholic and a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was an active member of his parishes. Mario will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 9, Rosary at 11:30, and Mass at 12:00 at St. Anthony de Padua 102 Lorenz Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. Inurnment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors at 1:30.
Donations may be made in Mario's memory to The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, 123 Laurel, San Antonio Texas, 78212.

Mario will be missed by many people, he was so kind. I first met him through Frances when we worked together at SW Bell Telephone Co as Operators getting to know his family well. Then, worked with him at USAA for several yrs before he retired. He always was a friend to all. Condolences to his fabulous family.
