Dear Carole and Charlie, please accept my sincere sympathy-I lost my dad , who was 90, on Jan 22, 2010 there in San Antonio----I remember your home across from Wilshire Elementary, and how I used to walk over from Karen Lane to play, and how beautiful your mom was--those are great childhood memories!

Mary was such an integral member of the Northwood choirs. I was astonished and humbled at one Wednesday night rehearsal when she announced that she had sung in the choir for 40 years. When my father passed away I was asked to sing and one of the songs he requested was "The Holy City". I fondly remembered Mary singing the song at Northwood, called her and asked her to fax it to me. Her service and steadfastness are only overshadowed by the joy it was to sing with her and direct her in the choir, a fond 20+ years of memories.

Aunt Mary sang at our wedding, July 8, 1972, which was also her birthday. Lovely memories. All her visits with us in Missouri were such fun and joyful events. She was such a blessing to all of us!

Our sympathies to our Texas family members. We will remember Aunt Mary for her big smile, open heart, her talking birds and love of the Dallas Cowboys. I remember when I was very young and she would have me draw her pictures of ships, always with compliments well beyond the talent of the artist! Take care, family, and feel grateful for the many wonderful years you had with this ray of sunshine.

Our condolences to the Hylen and Killebrew families on your loss. I have known Mary for many years as I grew up at Northwood Presbyterian. I have wonderful memories of listening to her sing in the choir, but my best memory was Mary singing The Lord's Prayer at my wedding 27 years ago. She was a lovely lady with a beautiful voice. Our prayers go with you.
