Mary Torres-Santiago Obituary
Mary Frances (Delgado-Fritz) Torres-Santiago went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on December 13, 1933 in San Antonio to Miguel Delgado and Maria de Jesus Delgado. Mr. Delgado was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria de Jesus when Mary was 3 years old. She met the love of her life, Bobby Ray Fritz, born in Kentucky in 1931. Bobby was a young Airman stationed with the Air Force in San Antonio.
They married in 1951. This wonderful union blessed them with six children: Don (Anabel), Ron (Martha), David (deceased) (Mary Ann, deceased), William (Judy), Linda (David) and Elizabeth. Bobby, a member of the 803rd Combat Support Group was killed in a helicopter crash at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in 1967. Mary later married Jose Torres-Santiago in 1971, a retired Army Sergeant First Class, in San Antonio, TX. Their marriage ended with Jose's death in 1992. Mary Francis Delgado Fritz Torres-Santiago passed on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren a legacy many would be proud to have. Through her, her family is connected to San Antonio's first families -those that arrived more than 300 years ago.
Graveside services will be Friday, January 11 at 11:00 AM at San Fernando Cemetery III, followed by a Celebration of Life at The Inn at Los Patios at 1:00 PM.
