Mattie McDaniel Obituary
Mrs. Mattie McDaniel, a former San Antonio Independent School District teacher passed away August 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and college sweetheart, Mr. Doyle Lee McDaniel and one daughter, Mrs. Victoria King. She leaves to mourn, 3 sons, 4 daughters, 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visition: 6-8pm, Thursday, August 15, 2013, D.W. Brooks Funeral Home, 4462 East Houston Street 78202. Funeral Service: 10:00am, Friday, August 16, 2013, Second Baptist church, 3310 East Commerce Street 78220.

Mrs. McDaniel was a lovely woman and i saw her as a woman with a good heart and willingness to enrich so many young minds. This great educator will be missed.

As soon as I saw her picture I remember who it was. It was Mrs. McDaniel. She was my math teacher when I was a kid. I am now 49 years old and I will always remember her kind and stern ways. I will certainly keep her family in my prayers as I have lost my mother as well. She was one of those teachers that a student never forgets. May the love of God comfort each of you in the passing of your Mother.
