Melanie Celeste Lichey, of San Antonio, TX passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at the age of 68. She was born on August 30, 1956, in Lawton, OK to Jesse Capper and Helen Horton. Melanie was a devoted wife, loving mother of three, and a dedicated nurse whose kindness touched countless lives.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Lichey Sr., children Teri Magallanez, Tami Holman, and Larry Lichey Jr., and brother Scott Horton. She was preceded in death by her parents and elder siblings, Jesse Capper Horton Jr. and Chere Jo Horton.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on August 27, 2025 at Shiner Funeral Home from 10:00am to 11:00am, with a celebration of life following at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

I was blessed to have known Celeste as my sister-in-law. She was kind, sweet and a class act. She was always there in time of need and care. When her brother, Scott, went into Afib, Celeste would always be there for him.
