Mike was one of those people that once you met him, you knew you had a friend for life and you just KNEW you were in the presence of greatness. I think they said it best when they said at his rosary the other night, "Micheal treated every single one of his friends like they were his best friend." He was one of the most beautiful people and I truly feel blessed to have known him and had him in my life. I love you, Mike. You will be missed more than ever! I know you will fit in perfectly with the angels in Heaven, though...and that is what shall get me through...the thought of you watching over us. Who knew we would be so lucky?

There is always certain people in your life that hold a special place in your heart. Michael was one of those to me. Every time he walked into Alamo gymnastics, where he used to work with me and subbed sometimes, he would find me and give me a BIG hug and tell me how much he missed me. I could always sense when he was there and he seemed to show up just when I needed a smile from someone. He was a special person and while he was coaching, had a passion for teaching the students at Alamo gymnastics. I will miss Michael tremendously!!

My condolences to the Gres family and friends for this sad and sudden loss of a kind, loving and bright soul. Margaret beat me to the blessing song which I too wanted to quote. The Dillo family was one of the most special things at OLLU, precisely because of the heart, joy and compassion of people like Mike. He was truly a unique and special individual, and I'm certain he smiles upon us all from Jesus' side. We will miss you but carry you in our hearts Michael.

I like many others met Michael at OLLU while at Dillo. He always knew what his mission in life was, I sit now and wonder if God favored him after completing his mission here on earth and was short an angel in heaven...calling our Michael to be with him. I had the pleasure and honor of talking to Michael last Monday on FB and I was having a hard time and he made me laugh so hard! He never took friendships, relationships, and life for granted. My prayers go out to all who knew him that you may find peace in the memories. But I really feel sorry for those who never had the opportunity to know him, you really missed out. Love ya Mike! Now you can watch over all of us at the same time. Rest dear friend and may God bless!

"May the blessing of the Lord be upon you. The blessing of the Father and the Son; and may the spirit of God, the spirit of love, be with you all your days." The Blessing Song - Dillo Awakening, OLLU
Michael was so many things to so many people. I met Michael at OLLU, as many of us did and I remember he was so full of life, excited to be there and anxious to make a difference. His smile, his laugh, his hugs and his humor were a blessing to each of us. I will treasure our conversations and our inside jokes, but I know I am not alone. We each have our stories and our memories, let us hold on to those moments and celebrate the life of a great man, for he is in a much better place.
Michael, you will be missed by many, loved by all and remembered always.

"May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, continue to guard the hearts and minds" [Phil 4:7]of those who continue to cherish and love the legacy of Michael: son, brother, friend, student. I knew Michael as an OLLU student leader, and he appointed me among his mentors, a role I accepted for nearly a decade. To see him smile was a gift; to listen to his laugh was of equal benevolence; to be in his presence, a ubiquitous combination of vibrance, generosity, energy, spirit, tenacity, leadership, humor, kindness, and compassion, was a treasure. Reminding him of his qualities was something I witnessed so many readily do, presenting him with a bounty of admiration, reciprocating the goodness he always gave to others. He will be sorely missed as the adopted lil' brother I grew to know and love.

I met Mike at OLLU and knew him through DILLO and several mutual friends. I've seen references that he was always smiling and laughing and it's so true. The best summary I can give was that he was a good man and an outstanding human being. It's hard to believe that I will no longer be able to joke with him by messenger anymore on random late nights. Michael, we all love you and miss you.
