Michael Harrell Obituary

Mike Harrell, an accomplished sales professional and realtor, was a proud San Antonian, being born at the Nix on the River. He was also proud of his extensive career in sales leadership and home building. Everyone knew of Mike's passion for everything Cowboys, Longhorns and Spurs.

Mike was a faithful man who knew the strength and love of our Lord and was happiest when spending quality time with family and friends. Mike made sure to be present and stay connected to friends over years and extended family over miles. Not so easy, but he did it. He was the most fantastic conversationalist and storyteller and incredibly generous and considerate, always building up those around him to achieve more.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Mollie and James C. Harrell and his brother Steven M. Harrell. Mike will be eternally remembered by the love of his life, Yvette, along with his treasured nieces, extended family, many, many close friends and his beloved pet, Clary.

We all are better for having known Mike.

Dear Mike, What a beautiful memory this is. I will never forget you. You will always hold such a huge place in my heart. God is near the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. I am so happy you are celebrating with Our Lord Jesus. The Victory is yours. You will be so missed. Yvette, he did love you. I am so so sorry

I met Mike in 1991 or 1992, when he sold me a Honda Prelude, and we became fast friends. Mike and I shared a birthday: February 18. We met for lunch every year to celebrate each upcoming year. Mike did not have genetic children, but he knew well how to treat them. He was a loving uncle and always asked how my children were doing. He was full of praise and encouraging comments. His love and kindness is surely missed every day. The only way to cope with losing Mike is to be thankful he was a part of our lives.
I need to search for a photo so I can post it.

Hello to the family and friends of Mike. I have been his insurance agent for many years now. I recently called and texted him with no response. I found it odd, cause he would always call me back. I went on line and typed his name and found this. I am so sorry for the loss off mike. I had lunch with him one time at the Hyatt downtown. He was witty and told his stories about his life experiences. we would exchange our life experiences. he was a great customer of ours and he will be missed. My condolences to the family.

Yvette, I just now could respnd... I am so upset and sorry for your loss. I knew Mike thru his Job. He called me on a Tuesday to see if I could meet him for lunch. Being in a new job I had conflicts. The following Monday I reached out and he didn't respond. I felt then something wasn't right. I tried every day. Mike was a great friend, patient and thoughtful.
We talked about getting together so I could meet you... you were very special to him.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to talk.

Dear Yvette,
We are devastated to hear about Mike´s passing. We began to worry after not hearing from him for almost a month. I´ve know Mike for over 40 yrs. He and my husband , and son had just spent time together a few mths back going to some ball games. We began to feel a strange feeling after calling so many times and not hearing back.
My husband googled his name and this obituary came up.
We are shocked, saddened, lost and without words.
He was like family to us.
God bless, I know you are devastated.
Liz and Randy Meek.
