Michael Yates Obituary

YATES
Major (Ret) Michael Weston Yates ended his Tour of Duty on August 10, 2010, when he went home to be with God and the angels. Mike was born 1/30/1951 in New Orleans. He proudly and happily served his country as an Army Nurse Corps Officer for almost half of his life. Although his body failed him, his servant's heart remained strong to the end. Mike loved nothing more than taking care of others. He will be immensely missed. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Lessard-Yates; father, Weston Yates; children, Tiffany and Ben Yates; stepsons, Jona and Jesse Lessard; brothers, Alvin and Weston Yates; and sister, Julie Yates. A memorial will be held on Thursday, August 26, at 4pm at BAMC on the 4th floor. Please be advised that to enter BAMC, each visitor will need a valid ID; car registration must be current. Please allow ample time for entry procedure and parking. Parking spaces may be scant.

To Elis and to Mike,

I am deeply sorry for Mike's parting, but I am so very grateful to Mike for being such a kind and dear husband to my sister, Elis. I am also so very grateful that Mike was able to have Elis's tender loving care to the end of this life. May you both carry the tender and nurturing love that you shared, in your hearts, forever.

Love to you both,
Anna
