Mike Cantu Obituary
Our beloved son Mike Cantu, Jr. passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013 after a short illness. He was 46 years old, born November 4, 1966 in San Antonio, Texas to Mike and Mary Esther Cantu. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Sixto G. and Amelia Olivares, Sr. and Miguel and Sofia D. Cantu. He is survived by his parents and sister Melanie C. and brother-in-law Arthur Abrego from Oceanside, California. Also his children Destiny Marie (Michael Vance), Mike Cantu III, Michael Anthony and Adeline Cantu. One granddaughter Danica J.M. Vance. His aunt Evangelina Salas, uncles Johnny and Teresa Cantu and Richard and Lupe Cantu, aunt Sonia Trevino. He was a proud uncle to Madeline, Madison, Austin, Ayden Abrego whom he loved so much. Mikey or Mikieto as he was known to many will be missed by family very much. He leaves behind cousins and a host of friends.
SERVICES
Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2013 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Brookehill Funeral Home. Funeral Procession will depart at 9:15 AM on Friday, June 14, 2013 for a Mass at 10:00 AM at Santa Francisca X Cabrini Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South. I'm a bit speechless. After almost 9 years, coming this June, I was totally unaware of Mike's passing. I'm a bit heart struck. We had good times even in the trying ones. Met Mike at Dwight Middle School. But it seems way before then. Him and Shawn Ibarra were inseparable at times. I remember that like it was yesterday. He was a good "brother", and friend. My two brothers liked him. Man, the memories! Dammit Mike! Missing you already brother. More can be said. ...just keep the door open to your mansion. ...see you on the other side.

Hey Mikeito, that's how I'll remember you, very outgoing and spontanious. I guess that's how you were with us.. our family and yours, I can't believe its been so long, we were all little when you would go to my parents house and you all would have a beer and have a good time, you were like another Uncle to me that i would see almost all the time.you will truly be missed....
