Minerva McKinney Obituary
Minerva Martinez McKinney was called home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2012, at the age of 50. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 27, 1961. She was a great person and beloved by many. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Savannah Lynn Martinez. She is loved and will be missed by her husband, Jesse McKinney; daughter, Jazlynn McKinney; her son, Jonathon Martinez; daughter-in-law, Chasity French; step-son, Jesse L. McKinney & Damone L. McKinney; step-granddaughter, Amaya Sky L. McKinney; her parents, Frank G. and Gumecinda M. Martinez; her sisters & brothers, Margie Cruz (Juan), Melissa Galvan (Richard), Melinda Hernandez, Frank Martinez, Jr. (Terry), Mary Casanova (Bobby), Matilda Huizar (Gilbert), Freddie Martinez & Marlene Esparza; her mother-in-law, Virginia R. McKinney; several sisters & brothers-in-law on husband's side; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at Castillo Mission Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, with a Prayer Service to begin at 7 p.m. Funeral Procession departs the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park. Services under the direction of:

I still think of you constantly. I miss you so much. 8yrs has gone by so fast. It will and hasn't been the same since you left. Darius is 17 and graduate next spring i can see you smile now. Samara is 15 in the 10th grade. And your pain in the butt shai is already 11 yrs old going to the 6th grade. I know your watching over us. I love you!

Miss you mom . everyday . my life now is just crazy i never thought that by the time i was 20 id be alone with no one . everyone always tells me how much i look like you and it breaks my heart because your not here and we all miss you . i may not be exactly who you wanted me to be but im working towards it . before dad left he used to tell me about sometimes when he first met you and we would just cry together. i always wonder how he felt to raise me on his own now how you did . but now that you are both gone i realize everything that you warned me about. i wish i could take back the type of child i was . i cant ever forgive myself . you were the one who kept us going and together at that and ever since you left i just feel like a different person . like this isnt my life its some horrible dream that i would never wish on anyone. no one knows what it feels like to not have your parents to turn to , to share some of the best memories with , to have there to visit , to have during a wedding .. nothing . i feel so empty and heartless because everything that i love gets ripped away from me . everything . love you mommy .
