Ollie Moye Obituary

November 20, 1926 - May 30, 2015
Ollie S. Moye, age 88, passed away May 30, 2015, in New Braunfels, Texas. He was born November 20, 1926, in Reinhardt, Texas. The oldest of three siblings, Ollie was a graduate of North Texas State College, class of 1950. Earning a B.S. in Chemistry Ollie went on to practice pharmaceutical sales for 27 years all over the world, seven of which were spent in Europe working with the Navy, American Army, and Air Force hospitals and dispensaries. Receiving several professional awards and honors throughout his career, Ollie was named H.H. Robins top gun award in 1988 and 1989. He was a member of many professional and civic organizations where he enjoyed giving back to his community. Ollie loved bicycling, walking, grandfathering, traveling, photography and visiting art museums. His favorite museum was the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas, where Ollie served as a Docent for many years. He received the McNay's Peacock Award for Distinguished Service for the Speakers Bureau. One of Ollie's favorite hobbies was giving away happy rocks to family, children, strangers, restaurants and businesses throughout his community. He was passionate about making people smile even in tough times. Ollie is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and Mary Lou. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Ulrich Moye; son, Steven; daughter, Rosanne; stepdaughters, Nancy, Glenda, and Melodie, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of Ollie's favorite quotes was by Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Interment with Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

My deepest sympathy to you, Gladys and your family. I will very much miss setting next to Ollie on Sundays as when he came in we would always have a little chat as he always would have a joke. I will keep his rocks forever.
