Oscar Benavides Obituary
Oscar Blas Benavides Sr. born on January 27, 1937 passed away October 3, 2018 at age 81. He is preceded in death by his parents, Laberio and Maria Benavides; sisters, Lydia Benavides Rodriguez (Eliseo Sr.), and Hilda Benavides Rodarte (Luis). He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe R. Benavides; daughter, Diana B. Tovar; sons, Oscar Jr., Rene, Raul Sr. (Martha), and Alberto Benavides Sr. (Dorothy); brother, Ruben Benavides (Guadalupe); sisters, Sara Benavides Garcia (Joe), and Lucy Benavides Piña (Herbie); grandchildren, Albert Benavides Jr. and family, Lorraine Tovar, Jeannine Tovar (Joe Cruz), Anthony Benavides and family, Camille Benavides (Jason), Raul Benavides Jr. and family, and Ashley Benavides; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; extended family and friends. Oscar was an Air Force Veteran. Special thanks to the staff, nurses and doctors at Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital and Hospice, Palliative Care Team, Morningside Ministries, and VITAS Hospice for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held October 9th from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Procession will depart Hillcrest on October 10, 2018 at 8:30 AM for 9:00 AM Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements with
