To the family of Oscar Diaz: Although I did not know Oscar personally, I knew of him and his career. It is so unfortunate that we lost a family member at such an early age. He found a love in boxing and he dedicated his life to it. In this day and age not many people dedicate their lives to doing what they love. All of us (his family) should be proud of who he was and what he did. He will be an inspiration to many. May you rest in peace Oscar....

Oscar, may you rest in peace with the heavenly Father. You fought many great battles and fights in life and now heaven has gained a great spirit and true warrior.

Rosa Quiroga-de la Rosa

March 3, 2015

I was truly saddened to hear of Oscar's passing on Thursday. I received a call from my father, Epifanio "Prieto" Quiroga who informed me of the sad news. Oscar was a divine gentleman and friend. In the short time I knew him and few times that I saw him he was very respectful and genuine. I ask God that he give all of his family; especially his mother, Theresa the peace in her heart that she will need in these next couple of days and not to mention lifetime of missing and not having her son around. Please find comfort in knowing that he is in God's arms and no longer suffering. The Champ (Oscar Diaz) will live forever in our hearts. Gone But Not Forgotten. With our sincere condolences; from one boxing family to another. ~The Quiroga Family
