Raymond John Kosub passed away on August 14, 2021. Born in San Antonio August 29, 1939 to Pauline (Halbardier) and Emil F. Kosub Sr. He was one of four boys in the Kosub household. Raymond married Etta, the love of his life in October 1965 where they remained devoted to each other for almost 55 years.
Ray was a 1958 graduate of East Central High School. He served in the US Army National Guard where he was an expert rifle sharpshooter. He loved playing the game of baseball well into his 40's. Most of his career involved sales and management in the veterinary/agriculture industry. He had a great passion for hunting. He loved farming, his tractors and his cows and a good fishing trip. When the grandkids came, he enjoyed teaching them his love for the outdoors. He was a master mind in designing and building anything on the farm. He was also an active member of Highland Park Lutheran Church. He remembered everyone by name that crossed his path and was a great friend to all.
Ray is preceded in death by his loving wife Etta Kosub; parents, Pauline and Emil Kosub Sr.; brothers Emil Kosub Jr. and Clarence Kosub.; granddaughter; Meghan Baxter Kosub.
Ray is survived by his daughter; Lori LaBarbera and husband Nick; son Kevin Kosub and wife Melissa; grandchildren Patrick and Taylor LaBarbera and Nathan Kosub and wife Selina; great grandchild Percy Kosub; brother Ken Kosub and wife Elaine; sisters-in-law Bitsy Kosub and Betty Gest along with numerous nieces and nephews and special lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 22 from 5-7pm at Porter Loring Funeral Home (Downtown San Antonio).
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 23 at 10am at Highland Park Lutheran Church.
Interment will follow at the San Fernando III cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that you plant an Oak Tree in his honor to remember his love for nature.
