Raymond Torres Obituary

Raymond S. Torres
October 31, 1932 - August 15, 2025
Raymond S. Torres, lovingly known as dad and Abuelo, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and family traditions that will live on for generations. Born in Puebla, Mexico, and raised in Mexico City, he discovered his passion for baking at a young age, opening his first bakery at just 15. After moving to the United States, he was owner and master baker of Los Cocos Bakery in San Antonio, which he proudly operated for 48 years.
Raymond was the devoted father of twelve and a beloved Abuelo to countless grandchildren. His family finds peace knowing he is now reunited with his late wife, Herlinda, the love of his life.
His heart beat to the rhythm of mariachi, and his love of singing brought joy and light to everyone around him. Raymond was also well known for his gift of storytelling. He loved sharing the best stories-always full of humor, heart, and wisdom-and he will be dearly missed for the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to hear them.
He is survived by his children: Joe, Raymond, Carlos, Rosalinda, Leticia, Frank, Patricia, Ruth, Marsha, Abraham, Herman, James and George; along with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Raymond will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and the joy he shared through his baking and his love for family.

Dear Torres family, your father was a wonderful neighbor to my family and we will hold his memory very close to our hearts. We are very grateful for all the many times he shared his Thanksgiving pies with his neighbors of many years. He was always kind and generous. His baking skills were out of this world amazing. I am so glad we got to spend part of Thanksgiving morning last year when he was able to share his stories of his close friendship with owners of other prominent bakers in town. He will be missed and I hope we all keep in touch.. May God offer you all peace and comfort in your many memories. Mr. Torres, may your soul soar with all of the Angels in Heaven. Sending much love and lots of prayers and hugs to all of you.
