Raymonde Avitua Obituary
Raymonde T. Avitua, born in Belgium on Oct. 7,1928, went to be with the Lord on July 9,2009 at the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Severo Avitua. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws: Linda (Martin) Ortiz, Lydia (Gilbert) Perez, Teresa (Robert) Hatch, Eva Avitua Mendoza, and Simonne (Mike) Miller. Sons and daughters-in-law: Severo (Evelyn) Avitua Jr., Ernest T. Avitua, Jessie (Alice) Avitua, Robert (Mary) Avitua and Luis Adrian (Andia) Avitua. 40 grandchildren and 58 great grandchildren. A Service will be held on Monday July 13,2009 at 7:00 pm. At the Ortiz Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday July 14, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Ortiz Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. ARRANGEMENTS WITH:

Grandma.....so many thoughts that just can't be put into words. We all miss u so much. I know u must finally feel rested and at peace. I know u will look in on us from time to time and although everyone is still grieving as though u just left us yesterday, just know that now your children will seek out comfort in eachother. I know we didn't see eachother as much as others, but when we were in the presence of eachother u always made me feel like a part of the family. My family was very sad to here of your death, but they will always rememeber "The Belgium Lady". I will always remember your crazy sense of humor and your spontaneous character. You always had a joke or some prank up your sleeve...The boys miss you and you will always be their grandma A. Thank you for all the laughs and I look forward to seeing u again!!!!

Although the distance was always great and the times shared were few, it was the quality of our time together that I cherish. Thank you for everything you did for the family, and especially for raising your son to be the father he is today.

grandma,there were many names for you but to me you were my beautiful blue eyed grandma!!! the look on my face may not semm that i am sad but on the inside the pain is unbearable. the last week you spent with us i will never remember and i will take it to the heart. im glad to see you not suffering anymore as i saw you trying so hard to stay. i just want you to know that the memories i have shared with you up until the last time i saw you will never dull nor fade away but will stay with me all the days of my life.

Mom, I just wanted to let you know how much I miss you and Love You. Everyday there is something that makes me cry for you, like a commercial on TV about Reese's Cup. Going to the mall with the girls and passing by the Pretsel Shop. Also going to their house and looking for you at your usual spot then I remember it is true. You did leave us but It is ok because all I have to do is to think of the week we all spent with you in your room watching you suffer so much and I then think "your not suffering anymore" Thank God! Hello Grandma, I just wanted to let the most beautiful, blue eyed, foxy, Belgian, grandma in the world to know that you will always be in my heart, sometimes I catch myself where ever I am thinking about all the thing you used to like and do. A glance at a Reeses cup breaks my heart, your scent still lingers in our home and it is a wonderful scent that I wish to never forget. You are no longer suffering and my heart is lifted yet broken at the same time, but you are in heaven now and i know we will see eachother again someday. Grandma and Grandpa are together again, hugging and laughing, and catching up on everything that’s happened. We will all miss you both, you were the best grandma in the world and I will never forget you, these last months living with you and sneaking to your bed to wish you goodnight after my shows are memories I will never forget. "You have gone home to be with the lord & have bid us all goodbye". All our tears and prayers couldnt make you stay. We asked the lord why did you take her away? His reply was "I couldn't let her stay. i looked around my garden and saw an empty place. I then looked down from heaven and saw her tired face. I knew she was suffering and a cure was not to be. so i put my arms around her & whispered 'come with me'." We thank the lord for telling us why. He also put another beautiful star in the sky.
My beautiful mom, i miss you so much, the pain is unbearable and i have found it quite hard to live with out you. My heart is overwhelmed with sadness as each day passes by, I love you very much and i know that you and daddy are together in heaven waiting for me. With all my love

I feel some comfort in knowing that you are no longer suffering and now resting peacefully with Dad.
