Rex Hammond Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rex Allen "Tre" Hammond III on Wednesday August 1, 2012 at the age of 20. He was born December 14, 1991, in San Antonio, TX. Tre' attended Texas Military Institute (TMI) and looked forward to a career in nursing. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life including reading, sports, music, and spending time with his friends and beloved dog, Bailey. He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Whitehead Hammond; father and stepmother, Rex "Bud" and Angelique Hammond; grandparents, Bill and Dolores Whitehead, and Rex and Sherry Hammond; stepbrother, Gage Eller, stepsister, Courtney Roechell Boston; great grandmother, Elisa Sanchez; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many wonderful friends , most notably his best friend, Tyrone Sinclair. We will always remember Tre's big smile and kind and quiet nature. He will live in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City, TX. A private burial will be held on a later date.

I am so sad to hear about the loss of Tre. My grandmother Mary is a resident at The Heights on Huebner and is devastated by his loss. He was such a bright spirit, I always remember seeing him give her a big hug everyday he would walk into work. He always had such a wonderful smile on his face. Our prayers are with his family.

Tre was so hilarious and his smile could light up a room. I'll miss the chats we had during class from the light hearted to the deep conversations two people can have in the midst of school. He called me a lot to check on me when I moved up to Chicago and was always a text or a phone call away. I'm sad that we were never able to solidify the plans for the bowling double date we were talking about. All the prayers and good thoughts to his family and other friends. We all love and miss you Tre! Rest easy friend.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Tre at The Heights on Huebner. I am so blessed and lucky to have known your son's beautiful heart and that contagious smile of his - it could light up a room. He was a very kind young man and our patients absolutely adored him. My words are not adequate to express the heartache I feel for your premature loss. Your family is in my heart and prayers.
