On Friday, July 14, 2023, Richard Byron Knight, III, passed away unexpectedly at age 63 at his residence. Family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues will miss him dearly.
Byron was born on August 13, 1959, in San Antonio, TX, to Richard and Darleen Knight. He graduated from Robert E. Lee high school in 1977, apprenticed with his father in the custom home-building business, then started his own home remodeling business.
Byron had a curiosity about the world and made an impact on many lives. He was enthusiastic about bonsai gardening, fine wine, and racing. He was known for his storytelling, playful sense of humor, his charming smile, and his kind spirit.
His canine companions were dear to him. His dog, Spanky Tyrone, has stayed behind, but Gumby and Jack are on a long walk with him now.
Byron was preceded in death by his father, Richard Byron Knight, Jr., his mother, Darleen, his sister, Michelle Knight Mayer, and his brother-in-law, Randall Dean Mayer. He is survived by his sisters Shara Denise Knight, Camille Ann Knight, and nephew James Paul Mayer.
A celebration of life will occur in the future. Memorial donations may be given to the Animal Defense League of Texas.

Byron and I raced motorcycles together. He bought one of my racing Penton's when we were young. Found memories with him. RIP Byron.
