Rita Bailey Obituary
She passed away at the Provincial House in San Antonio, TX surrounded by her Sisters. She was the fifth of seven children, and a native of San Francisco, CA.
Sr. Rita served and lived the charism dynamically ministering to young people as teacher, youth minister, catechist, counselor, and Director of Guidance. She worked in Atlantic City, Paterson, NJ, New York City, Port Chester, NY, San Francisco, Lomita, Corralitos, CA, Marrero, Louisiana, and San Antonio, TX.
Sr. Rita is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her religious community, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters) and many, loving friends. She has joined her parents, John Frank Bailey and Hannah Marie Kelleher along with her two brothers and four sisters in everlasting happiness.
FUNERAL SERVICES
The Rosary and Eucharistic Celebration will be live-streamed on the Province Facebook page: Salesian Sisters West. The rosary will take place on Wednesday evening, January 4th at 7:00 P.M. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 5th.

Donations may be sent to the Salesian Sisters to support vocations to the community, so dear to the heart of Sr. Rita at: Formation Program, 6019 Buena Vista St. San Antonio, TX 78237. Thank you.
Sr. Rita's body will be brought to San Francisco, CA for a funeral Mass and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA. These service arrangements are pending at this time.

Heartwarming memories of Sister Rita Bailey captured in this inspirational note she sent me on July 27, 1980.
At that time, she was stationed at Immaculata High School in Louisiana.
It is a reminder of my treasured friendship with her that began when I was at Shaw HS in Louisiana in 1980, and lasted over 40 years.
Remembering her loving kindness is also a reminder of cherished memories in Salesian life because of amazing people like her.
This note serves as a bookmark in my Constitutions and Regulations of the Society of St. Francis de Sales which I refer to often for inspiration. DMACT

Oh Sister Rita, how we will miss you. I remember the wonderful memories we shared with you at St. James Catholic church. Your leadership in youth ministry was excellent. Loved every minute of it. Retreats, Youth Mass, Youth spectacular...etc. last time we saw you was in Denver at World Youth Day...you were there...Godspeed Sister Rita.
I'm Grateful to have met, Sister Rita, and shared time with her, My Prayers for Her Eternal Rest and comfort to the Family amily and the Salesian Community.

She was a Great Sister to work with, her life was a sample of God's Love, always smiling, and patient, to all teachers and children during the Doctrine at Corpus Christi, Church.
