He was a teacher at Don Bosco High School in Milwaukee, when I met him as a student. He was a quiet, humble Marianist brother, very proficient at the area of mathematics which was an area in which I wasn't proficient. He was always available to help, and his explanations were invaluable. We kept in touch after my graduation, and I had an opportunity to meet his parents in the St Louis area (a very welcoming family!). We met up again in San Antonio, still kept in touch afterward. He became involved in the Charismatic movement of that time and together with his obligations and involvement with assisting the less fortunate among us, we lost track of each other. My memory of him is one of gratitude -- both as a teacher and a friend. In summary, we can definitely say to him, "Well done, oh loyal and faithful servant". You are now at rest in the arms of your Savior, Whom you served well. Rest in peace, Bro. Bob.

I was very glad to have such an interesting uncle in my life. I enjoyed his visits and his gentle and adventurous nature. One of my favorite memories is driving way up in to the Colorado mountains on an old mining road, and hiking well above tree line to a small mountain lake. I was in my 20's and he was likely in his early 60's but as strong of a hiker then as I ever was. A fast moving afternoon hail storm came over the mountain and caught us above tree line - we both laughed after running a good 1/4 mile through the hail to reach some shelter.
