Robert Harold Lehman was called home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. We are still in disbelief that he is gone, but what a terrific adventure he had for nearly 83 years. He leaves behind a family who loved and adored him and a host of friends who can say he certainly blessed their lives. There is not another BOB LEHMAN anywhere to be found. We were told that "the party didn't start until Bob walked in!"

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Alma Dickenson Lehman and Harold Frieze Lehman, brother Larry Lehman, special golfing buddy and father-in-law, Gordon Mandt, and brother-in-law David Chastain. He grew up in the Rio Grande Valley with a rowdy group of wonderful, lifelong friends whom we know anxiously awaited his arrival at the Pearly Gates! He is survived by his wife Marcia Mandt Lehman, his daughters Jennifer Lee Lehman and Christi Lehman Mott (Jeff), and son Ryan Robert Lehman. He absolutely adored his grandson, Hayes Lehman Mott, and what a terrific connection they had! Bob also leaves behind sister Linda Chastain, nieces Sally Evans Sadler (Tom) and Susan Doyle (Brian), great niece Megan and great nephew Jimmy, as well as cousins Boliver Andrews (Marilyn), Cliff Shive (Desi), and Nancy Levinsky (Rich). In addition, Bob leaves behind his sister-in-law Jaye Mandt, nephew Brian Gaspard (and partner Melissa Jacques), niece Trudy Scott (Greg), great niece Meredith and great nephew Cooper.

Bob was born in Mercedes, Texas, on August 16, 1941, and lived in Weslaco, Texas, until he left for college. He attended TCU and graduated with a BA in Business from Sam Houston State. He was a member of the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi, of which he was very proud. Bob had a very successful and gratifying career in real estate for over 60 years and in the 1990's formed Lehman Real Estate.

After graduating from college, he returned to the Rio Grande Valley, where he ran the Llano Grande Golf Course and taught elementary school. After hearing about a new opportunity south of Corpus Christi, his adventure began when he went to work selling residential and commercial real estate for Great Western Investment Company at the Million Dollar Inn on North Padre Island. Bob helped develop North Padre from white sand dunes and prairie dogs into the booming community it is today.

While out 'on the island,' he met the love of his life, Marcia, and something must have clicked because they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They eventually were married and moved to San Antonio in the early 1970's, where he continued his successful real estate career.

Bob worked for Ray Ellison Homes in the 1970's and early 1980's, where he became a Regional Vice President of Marketing. He was top producer many times in his tenure with Ellison, receiving numerous awards for outstanding sales, and he was named to the Million Dollar Circle several times. After he left Ray Ellison Homes, he went to work for Liberty Homes as Director of Marketing and was a top producer for Liberty, many times over. He was a member of the Marketing Directors of San Antonio board and sat on the San Antonio Sales and Marketing Council for many years.

Bob had a special gift that God gave him, and that was touching people in such a beautiful way. Bob never met a stranger, and he could come up with a new story every time you were with him. He loved and cherished his Wednesday men's group, the Crime Fighters of the Petroleum Club, and they are still awaiting their next Bob Lehman story! Bob's special "happy place" was at Port Aransas, where Bob and Marcia and their wonderful family and precious friends spent many joyful times. He loved cruising around in his buggy on the beach looking for bikinis!

There will be a Celebration of his Life on August 16th (his birthday) at 4:00 p.m. at the Petroleum Club of San Antonio. We will honor and celebrate this beautiful man and toast him on his birthday! Bob's immediate family will spread his ashes in November on the beach he loved so dearly.
