I knew Robert from school. We graduated together from Lanier High School in 1963. I remember him from being at some classes together and also remember him as being a very good Basketball Player. He was one of the best. I am so sorry he is gone, may GOD Bless him and may he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Robert's family at this sad time of loss. My family and Robert's lived across the street from each other on San Jacinto St when I was growing up. David and I are still good friends. Robert was a few years older than me, but I remember he always waved and said hi as he came and went. He and the rest of the Martinez family helped form part of my fond childhood memories.
PS I love the pictures of Robert and family.

Robert
You have been a great friend of all of us at the St Vincent de Paul food pantry for many years. Your smiles, wit, and bottomless bag of jokes will really be missed by both the volunteers and the folks we serve. Rest in Peace.

My friend, Robert. We used to chat on the daily. He'd come in the store,(I work at the HEB close to where he lived) wearing his sweatpants and white converse, McDonalds coffee in hand. Every day. Like clockwork. We'd trade jokes and he'd tell me all of his stories about being an RN in the ER back in the day. He talked about his kids and grandkids and about going to visit them in Wisconsin. He would brag about not having anything to drink in over three years, but I knew he occasionally missed his beer. I told him that I listened to KONO once; he brought me a KONO keychain the next day. I still have it and am thankful for all the talks we had. I can hear his words "hello, my dear" clear as day. I hope you're having a cold one up there, old man, you deserve it. So long, Robert. Until we meet again!! RIP
