Ironically, just minutes before opening your email, I was reading his auto bio in The NW Classen reunion booklet (2007), and was amazed (again) by his brilliant career in all parts of N. America; a veritable renaissance man.

It was my good fortune to be one of Bob's friends, and frat bros. in high school. He was always cheerful, friendly, and hard working. He was such an outstanding student student that many of his friends affectionately referred to him as being "annoyingly brilliant". Farewell, and rest in peace.

Molly,
Donna and I send our sympathy to you. I loved Bob and always enjoyed seeing him and talking with him. He was always so nice and welcoming to me. At first meeting him on the golf course and playing a few rounds with him in McAllen and then seeing him here was great, sorry we didn't play more here. I remember him telling me once that in his previous round he had been hitting his driver really well and he thought he had figured something out. I thought to myself, someone that had played that much golf in his life and was still trying to figure things out!! A testament to the game we love, but also realize now, he did figure out how to be a nice human being. So grateful to know him and praying for you and family.

Molly and Family, Trudy and I are so very sorry at the news of Bob's passing.
I worked for Bob for 9 years at Data General in Atlanta. Of all the people I've worked with, Bob was the brightest of the bright. There was not a problem or issue that Bob couldn't solve, quickly - he even got Scott to bartend my Christmas party on short notice. He was a terrific mentor and traveling partner. Together, we played golf at some of the great courses across the country. I have nothing but fond memories of Bob and his family. And always will.

Father God, we ask you to give us the peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we rest knowing that your faithful servant, Bob is rejoicing in your kingdom. We thank you and magnify your name for knowing him so much that you saw it fit to take him back home where he belongs. In Jesus name, we pray Amen and Amen. (We just heard God say FOUR he is now golfing in heaven). Rest in peace, you will always be our friend.

Bob, (Grandpa Bob, G-Bob), we were drawn together by couple of common interests the love for your daughter Lisa, and stories of the Ole West. We sat for hours mostly me listening to you share about the various western books you had read. Then you loaning them to me to read.
You skirted death so many times always to fight your way back. Similar to one of your golf rounds not to be counted out.
As an avid reader I´m sure your familiar to a quote from Mark Twain on death; "The Impartial Friend: Death, the only immortal who treats us all alike, whose pity and whose peace and whose refuge are for all-the soiled and the pure, the rich and the poor, the loved and the unloved." Thousands of geniuses live and die undiscovered - either by themselves or by others.
You were loved and may your memory and legacy live on.
Molly, we love you and standing with you as grieve, mourn your loss. Here to serve when needed. Love Tom Joyner (John 3:16)

Bob was an active member of the San Antonio Rules of Golf Group. As a tournament referee, Bob always adhered to a high standard in monitoring rules administration and player conduct. He was a true partner, a great friend, and will be missed by our entire group.
