Robert Vielock Obituary

ROBERT CLAYTON VIELOCK
July 20, 1936 - December 28, 2024
With gratitude for a life faithfully lived, we celebrate Robert Clayton Vielock, 88, lovingly known as Bobby, Bob, or BobBob, who passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2024, after a brief illness. Bob was a man of deep faith, family devotion, and kindness, who brought joy to all who knew him.

On April 26, 1968, Bob married the love of his life, Mary Lou Hunter of Beeville, Texas, affectionately known as 'The Goose'. Their 56 years of marriage were filled with love, laughter, and a close circle of lifelong friends. Their charming love story began over a tuna fish sandwich, sparking a partnership built on devotion and joy. Together, they raised four children: Jeff Vielock (Sherry), Brooke Perry (Bob), Hunter Vielock (Blake), and Wade Vielock (Lauren).

Bob was a devoted grandfather to Mallory Combs (Brant), Foster Vielock (Ashlyn), Max Marsenison (Kass), Mason Marsenison, Alli Gaylor (Shane), Crayton Vielock, and Dos Vielock, as well as a proud great-grandfather to a growing number of great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.

A graduate of Texas Military Institute (TMI), where he excelled in football and baseball, Bob went on to attend the University of Texas, pledging Kappa Sigma. His faith guided his life as a devoted member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, as well as The Governor's Club, and The Old Trail Drivers of Texas.

Bob worked for 47 years at Satel's, where his career became an integral part of his life. He always greeted his clients with a smile and a hunting or fishing tale. He took a brief sabbatical to start a gun safe company, TexSafe, with a few very close friends, but always knew his passion was working at Satel's. Known for making everyone feel valued, he was admired for his warmth and generosity. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed fishing trips with friends and hunting adventures with his sons and brother-in-laws. Some of his most cherished memories were made at the family ranch in Beeville, Texas, where he helped Crayton and Dos harvest their first deer.

Bob's faith in Christ, and love for others were the cornerstones of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mamie Vielock, and brother and sister-in-law, Crayton and Carolyn Hunter. He was especially close to his mother's sister, lovingly known as Aunt Bunny, whose warmth and love were a treasured part of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou; his children and grandchildren; his brother, Joe Ray Vielock (Jeanne), his brother-in-laws Larry and Johnny Hunter, who were like brothers to him; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored him.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Dullnig, Rad Freel, Crayton Hunter, Johnny Hunter, Lance Hunter, Larry Hunter, Sundown Hunter, Wesley Hunter, Bob Perry, Joey Satel, Jimmy Satel, Toffee Satel, and Joe Ray Vielock.

Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and friendship. He will forever be remembered for his unwavering faith, kind spirit, and love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort knowing he is at peace with Christ.

We have lost another friend in Bob and our prayers have been with Mary Lou and all his family. We were planning on attending the funeral and renewing our friendship with their son Hunter in particular with whom our daughter Elizabeth was a good friend in high school. Unfortunately, we started the new year with the flu and have been housebound to protect those around us. Bob and Mary Lou shared a very special marriage and the many memories they had will give her strength.
