Rodolfo "Rudy" Meyers was called home by our Lord on September 25, 2025. Born in San Antonio, TX to John Louis Meyers and Juanita Aquino on May 19, 1926, Rodolfo was a proud WWII and Korean War US Navy Veteran who had a lifelong "can do" attitude. He was steadfast, fearless and unapologetic most of his life, yet he was tempered only after the passing of his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Jane, in 2019.
Surviving family include: Veronica (Gilbert Perez), Judith (Roy Pedroza), Gerard (Dora Mercado), Joseph Paul Leung (Irene Rodriguez), Patricia Ann Leung, granddaughter Jennifer Christine Almanza (Alexander), grandson Jonathan William, and brothers: Allan Frank (Phyllis) – Las Vegas, NV, and Robert (Thuy Nguyen) - San Diego, CA. Apart from his wife and parents, Rodolfo was preceded in death by his son, Rodolfo Jr., sister Anne Marie, and brothers Milton, and Johnny.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave. On Wednesday, October 8, 2025 a procession will depart Porter Loring Mortuary at 9:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at San Fernando Cathedral, 115 Main Plaza, 78205. Interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
His final wish was a message of loving thanks and to live a good life with prayers and blessings to all. The Meyers Family extends sincere gratefulness to those who provided care and comfort to our dad with special appreciation to Dora, the staff at Kirkwood Manor (New Braunfels), Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, and Dr. Carlos Lozano & his entire staff. Your love and dedication to dad's comfort and well-being in his later years and final days cannot be expressed enough in words.
