Rolando Rodriguez Obituary

Dr. Rolando F. Rodriguez entered into rest on Friday morning, June 15, 2007. Rolando was born on April 2, 1929 in La Habana, Cuba. Rolando received his Medical Degree from the University of La Habana Medical School in 1960 and practiced Internal Medicine until he left his native country in 1967. Dr. Rodriguez entered a successful private practice in Internal Medicine that served San Antonio from 1973 to 1998. He retired in 1998 and so loved his profession that he continued to work until near his death. He was greatly respected by his colleagues and adored by his many patients. He truly loved his profession and took great pride in his work. He was a member of the Cuban Cultural Center. He enjoyed playing the piano and the violin. He also enjoyed spending time with his four dogs who brought much love into his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Enrique F. Rodriguez; mother, Maria Arias and brother, Enrique Rodriguez. He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Casaubon Rodriguez; daughter, Maria Isabel Rodriguez-Henry; son, Dr. William Rodriguez and wife, Susan; grandchildren: Douglas III and Luis Andres; brother, Eduardo Rodriguez of Miami Florida; sisters: Maria Elvira and Maria Magdalena, of Miami, Florida and the Casaubon Family. The family would like to thank his wonderful and dedicated doctors: Dr. Heliodoro Boone, Dr. Luis Cisneros, Dr. Jesus Garcia, Dr. Carlos Orozco, Dr. Luis Rodriguez, Dr. Ernesto Guerra, Renal Associates, P.A. and all the staff at Christus Santa Rosa Downtown Surgical ICU. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. ROSARY SATURDAY JUNE 16, 2007 4:00 P.M. PORTER LORING CHAPEL 1101 McCULLOUGH A private interment will be held for the immediate family.
