January 29, 2012, I always looked up to my Tio Boris as a father figure. He would always make us laugh, and was always bringing us something to eat: bread, fish, fried frog legs, or something else... and was always thinking of others. When, I last spoke to him on the phone, he was in the hospital and the first thing he asked me, how was Priscilla? I think he got his love of gardening from my grandma and we had that in common. I loved to walk the garden in his home with him, and enjoyed talking with him about plants. I once asked him, why are your plants so beautiful, what do you do?... I said, I give my plants miracle grow, sing to them, pray for them and they still, don't look like yours. He looked at me and laughed, and said “you're spoiling them," just give them water, and they will do the rest." Tio, I will truly miss you …. Now, when I walk my garden and see my flowers blooming. i will smile, and think of you, for I know, you are truly my Garden Angel. Smile Tia, now he doesn't need any hat or sun screen, and is working in the biggest and most beautiful garden of all. Tio, may you RIP. Always will be in my Heart. Your niece, Idalia H. Tio Boris will always have a special place in my heart! He will be missed greatly!
I'll never forget his 2am visits to our house, when he worked at the Paul Marie.I must have been around 7 or 8yrs old, when he'd come over with fried fish, shrimp and what ever else was left at the end of his shift! The smell of that food would wake us all up to a fantastic feast!
I always felt that he truly cared for me. He just had a way of expressing that feeling through the years. He was a very special uncle!
Tia,may God Bless You and give you peace during this incredibly difficult time. I love you both, always,
Hilda

I can still hear tio's laugh, it will be with me always! I miss you so much already tio.... We well keep a good eye on our tia Yolanda for you, and make sure she gets to smiling again one day real soon...
I always looked forward to my tio's visits. As a child, I remember how he used to take me to work w/ him and spend the day bragging about how wonderful a neice I was... In retrospect, being one of eleven siblings in my family, [who also have their wonderfulness shine from time to time] I will be forever touched by his kindness & special attention.
I honestly thought he wrote the song, "Cha Cha linda", for me.. Aye que tio, how you made me smile... :)
Rest in peace tio, I look forward to seeing you again, give my regards to abuelita & tio Beto for me.
love always,
ChaCha
