Ruby Melson

Mrs. Ruby Olivia Brown Melson, of Roswell, NM, and San Antonio, TX, died Saturday, November 29, 2003, in San Antonio. She was born in Atkins, AR on July 19, 1917. She married William Arthur Melson in Shawnee, OK, on October 18, 1938. They made their home in Roswell, NM, for many years. Ruby moved to San Antonio in 1988 and lived at Christian Village Apartments and Morningside Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Melson; father, Thomas Ira Brown; mother, Amanda Elizabeth Brown, and sisters, Ila Rhea Rogers and Irene Elizabeth Brown. She is survived by her sons, Bill S. Melson (and wife Marise) of San Antonio, and James M. Melson of Dallas; grandchildren, Michael B. Melson of Stamford, CT, and Amanda K. Melson of New York City; sister, Hazel Ruth Smith of Aledo, TX, and brother, Thomas I. Brown, Jr. of La Jolla, CA. She was a loving and loved daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. To celebrate Ruby's life, there will be a Memorial Service at Morningside Manor Chapel located at 602 Babcock Rd. on Thursday, December 4, 2003, at 2:00 P.M. Funeral Services and Burial will be held in Roswell, NM, at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 6, 2003.
